The Kimi Ryokan is a Japanese Inn, but housed in a modern building built between 1984 and 1985 during urban renewal that change the entire face of Ikebukuro. It is a modern building, built to earthquake and fireproof standards that exceed those set by the Japanese government and the Japanese hotel association. Including the first floor, which is a sunken entryway, it is five stories, and has an elevator for easy access to each floor.
There are 38 rooms, all of which are in Japanese style with tatami mats, and polished wooden floors throughout the building. Shoes are taken off in the Genkan (entryway) before entry and stored in a shoe box which is locked with your room key. No shoes are allowed within the building . Disposable slippers are furnished to all guests and visitors.

 | In addition to the showers, there is a Japanese style bath available. The tub is specially made out of Hinoki (Japanese Cypress). Please ask our front desk staff for the key and hours of use. | |
 | On the 3rd floor is a coin laundry with washers and driers for the use of Kimi patrons. Coin laundries are often very difficult to find in Japan. | |
 | Wi-Fi is available on all floors and in every room of the building if you have a Wi-Fi enabled personal laptop or netbook. | |
 | For those traveling without a computer, the Kimi has a computer available for use by our guests. Please ask at the front desk. | |
 | The lounge has television with English language cable. There are also a refrigerator, hot water, microwave oven and simple food preparation facilities. Please be sure to label individually any food you store in the refrigerator. | |
